Making in the Heart of Philadelphia

Located along the Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia’s Center City, the Village of Industry & Art offers a welcoming environment for creative work and inspiration honoring the many artists that have come through these spaces over the last 130 year legacy of this space as a creative center. The Village of Industry & Art  brings artists, makers, and organizations together in a shared setting designed to support production, collaboration, and focus. With a collective of unique spaces readymade for production and making alongside creative offices and studio spaces, the Village of Industry & Art seeks to support a creative future for Philadelphia.

Artist Housing at the Village of Industry & Art  brings new creative life to the former Furness residencies—transforming these historic housing units into much needed live-work housing for creative and cultural workers.

In June 2025, Scout invited alumni, students, faculty, staff, neighbors, and all who were touched by the unprecedented closure of the University of Arts  in June 2024 to create a living memorial—a five day Celebration of Life.
