Intro to Handbuilding - The Ceramics Dept

In this class students will learn the fundamentals of handbuilding with clay! We will learn how to make unique functional and sculptural objects through pinching, coiling and slab techniques. Students will learn surface design and glaze processes to decorate their creations. This class is great for beginners and seasoned potters alike, and is a great course to complement a wheel-throwing practice. Our classes offer a supportive environment to explore hand building techniques at your own pace. Each session generally begins with an instructor demonstration followed by plenty of hands-on practice, giving you the guidance and time you need to develop your craft.

Classes meet once a week for three hours. (It's ok if you cannot attend every class.) Here is the FAQ page for more information or feel free to reach out with a question via email at hello@theceramicsdept.com
