As part of our Sounds of Philadelphia series, we are inviting Fringe Fest shows to pop-up on Broad Street. On Friday, 9/11, join us for a free pop-up performance of “Acoustic Pop Punk Sing-Along!”
“James Haro and Kat Siciliano join forces once again to bring you an unmissable pop punk experience. Coming off their loud and energetic Green Day sing-along in April, the duo is proud to present An Acoustic Pop Punk Sing-Along. These talented Philly-based artists bring their skill and sincerity to the stage, leading to performances that draw you in and lift you up. This come-as-you-are experience provides acoustic arrangements with words you can sing along to on a screen!!
After flipping through their CD books, the pair has hand-picked an hour of songs to cover, from classic thumping, raging hits of old to the heart-on-your-sleeve, scream-it-in-your-bedroom bangers of the recent past. The operative word is “punk,” and while the songs you hear may be recognizable, James and Kat are also seizing the moment to use music and unity to drive home the messages of resistance, emotional struggle, and solidarity with outcasts that are woven throughout the genre.”
Note: Though this event is free, this Fringe show will be presented in its entirety later this month. For tickets and more info: Link here
